Thank you so much, Shelle! The wood I used comes pre-trimmed so I actually don’t have to add this detail. The main thickness is about 1.5 inches!

Hi Amy! I used a very standard cheap paintbrush that I’ve had for years and years. I purchased it from Michaels. Unfortunately, I don’t have a specific name for you, but I know it is nothing unique or special. I used a thin brush for the lettering and Craftsmart Satin Acrylic Paint for the background paint. While I love chalk paint, it often leaves a bumpy finish for me as well. I wish you the best of luck!
